Congratulations, Minnesota! (January, 2025)
January 6, 2025
On December 17th, Minnesota became the 10th state to release a multisector plan for aging. The Minnesota Multisector Blueprint for Aging is a plan to ensure that all residents are included, valued, and given equitable opportunities to thrive. This first version of the blueprint specifies the domains, strategies, objectives, and tactics for the plan. In early 2025, the plan will be expanded to include a background document outlining the who, what and how of the MPA. The blueprint is organized into four domains, each with corresponding strategies:
Connected Communities
Emergency Preparedness, Individual Rights, and Safety
Optimized Health and Longevity
Economic Security and Vitality
These priority areas were the result of input from Minnesotans across the state, state agencies, and multiple cross-sector partner organizations. Most recently, in 2024, the Age-Friendly Minnesota Council launched the first Action Team convenings which prioritized those initiatives that will be the initial focus of the state’s MPA. Stay tuned in 2025 as the next iteration of Action Teams gets underway—dedicated groups of subject matter experts, state agencies, and various partners intentionally focused on specific objectives—enabling the Blueprint to move forward within each of the domain areas.
